OK I'm really going to date myself....I fell in love with the Yorkie from the back of a Spiegel catalog. For those of you in my age bracket..lol...in the back of the Spiegel catalog there used to be a page of dog pictures and actually could order a doggie from them!! Can you imagine that one?? I was only a little girl and fell in love with the Yorkie from that one picture. But my mom would not let me have a dog. Her big line was...Cyndi...when you grow up and get married you can have all the dogs you want.
Hahaha...ok ....years go by....I grow up....get married and in 1977 3 months after I got married I got my first Yorkie since I never forgot that breed and how cute they were. Then a few months later I got my second and my first baby only lived to be about 8 - he got really sick with a rare kidney stone and my second baby lived to be 14. I was so sad that I couldn't think of getting a dog. So no doggie for 15 years!!
Then last year Izzy came into my life and here I go again with all the love and fun.
Boy I'll say one thing it's sure different having a dog these days vs. 16 years ago that's for sure. Back then there was no internet to help you out and I couldn't believe how much vet bills went up in 16 years.
