[Esme's Mommy]

Someone broke into a house two doors down from me. This made me VERY worried becauseI have always felt that my neighborhood is very safe. I have always felt comfortable being home alone if my husband was working late... Luckily, no one was home and it seems they didn't take much...

Anyhow, they had a brand new kitten. When the woman came home, her back sliding glass door was open and her kitty was gone... (They haven't found her)

So this got me thinking about Esme. She is completely house trained, so we let her roam free. I am so paranoid now. If someone was to break into our home, Esme would be let out! I almost didn't sleep last night thinking about it, and I worried about it all day at work. We have an alarm system, so if someone was to try to break in, it would go off and call the police, but what about Esme? I never thought about this before until yesterday, and now I am so worried.
