I wish we would have found this site before we got our Gracie. Unfortunately we didn't. We now have a yorkie that is AKC but no where near standards. Our funds were real tight when we purchased her. With the things we know now I would have never purchased her. We love her death but my daughter really wanted one she could show in AKC. She can still show just not for conformation.
When we called to inquire about her they told us the price and we said we would get back with them. They called us a week later and said if we wanted her that they would give us a lower price and if we did not take her they were going to take her downstate to sell at a pet store. I did not want that to happen. We saw her mom, dad, aunt and grandma, so thought that we were doing good. He told us her mom was 8 pounds and dad was little smaller. I did not know the difference we have only had big dogs. Gracie is now 11 lbs. and longer and taller than a normal yorkie.
Then we have heard from other people that have his pups that some have got up to 15lbs. or so.
We wanted a small dog that you can carry in bag but, oh well we will know what to look for in the future when we get another puppy. I just do not understand how the can advertise them AKC when the do not meet standard.
We just have to make it past the first year and half or so as it seems the most trying with puppies.
