My one problem is I have no idea how to train him to use the potty pads. He likes to chew them up. I got a holder for it so he can't tear it from the edges now, but he is still chewing and ripping them up from the middle. How can you get him to stop doing this? Also what are the best ways to train him to use the potty pad and when do you think it would be safe to leave him on his own in the room and trust him to potty on the pads?
I use washable potty pads, it saves money and then no chewing them up!

I also reccomend a belly band till you have him 100% potty trained. You will feel so much comfort taking him places if he has a belly band on.

Here is my boys with "wee-wee wraps"
