When I brought Bella in for her first initial exam the night I got her, they also asked me a bunch of questions likes where I got her from, was it a breeder, etc. They took her away for a few mins. I always thought it was so they can scan her to make sure she didn't have a chip. They did the same thing when I took my parent's new dog in for his initial exam two years ago. Maybe they do scan them when they meet a new dog as a patient just to make sure our story checks out but they don't tell us because they don't want to offend us? Also, I would like to think that if a vet gets notice and posters re a stolen or lost pet and one fitting that description show up at their office, they'd do a scan just in case. |
