I will have to keep them apart when we do the surgery. Last night in the house I put Marley in a harness, on the leash, and wouldn't let him play with Pippin. I can't see that working long term. I need to break his biting habit. I take them outside often because we're potty training. It starts off running and chasing each other around the yard. Then the puppy starts to play hard and grabs Pippin's fur. Pippin tries to shake him lose. I growl, separate them, and tell Marley "No bite". It can happen so fast. Pippin is 9 months and 8 pounds, and Marley is 3 months and 3 pounds. It's unacceptable behavior to me and I hope I can stop it. When we got Pippin we had an older lab that was in poor health and Pippin never learned to play with another dog. He doesn't know how to stand up to the little guy. |
