We have the petgear crates next to our bed.
Need advice about transition back to crate at night-crate-train.jpg
None of my girls were crate trained when we got them. They each have their own "bedroom" with tons of blankets in there. They run to the bed at night and get their little nests just the way the way them and then i go along and zip them up after giving them a little good night kiss and petting.
The way i trained them was to zip them up at bedtime. Of course, each of them screamed their little brains out. My DH and i just put in ear plugs and did not respond when they were barking or whining. The first night is the worst as they scream themselves to sleep but we did not respond in any way. The second night, the routine was the same. We wore ear plugs and the screaming/whining was a LOT less but still happened. We still did not respond in any way. The third night was total silence and it was wonderful. This has happened with all 4 girls and now they are happy as clams in their little beds. The first 2-3 nights are rough but so worth it to have them all zipped up all night with NO ACCIDENTS. They all get upzipped in the morning and run outside.
So my advise is to get some good earplugs, put the crate by your bed but do not respond to her noises. When she is quiet, then let her out so that she doesn't associate the crying with you responding.
BTW...Kissy slept with us for 5 years before she was put in her crate at night. When we got Angel, the crates were purchased and that is when we started with them so i know it is possible even after they are older to train them. We have added a new crate each time we got another furbaby.
Good luck!!
