My vet wants $320 to do the procedure; to put a few stitches to hold it down. We have a new puppy who grabs Pippins fur when they are playing and won't let go. He has grabbed his face hair and I wondered if that's what caused it by him hanging on and not letting go. I had scheduled Pippin for surgery tomorrow but I worry what if the puppy did cause it and if the puppy does it again and breaks the stitches. Tonight I am taking both dogs to a trainer to get some help to prevent the puppies behavior. I'm also going to talk to the vet to see if we should hold off on the surgery until I get the puppy trained to not grab.
The puppy is very sweet but when he plays he likes to grab hair and hold on (chest, leg or face hair). I called the trainer and she suggested to spray bitter apple on Pippin but that didn't work. I am thinking of taking Pippin and getting his face shaved very short. I know I need to stop Marley from doing this but until I do I don't want Pippin to get hurt. Does anyone have any other suggestions. |
