Welcome. Hot Rod used to zoom around at first until he figure out his surroundings. He figured out that the coffee table legs weren't going to get out of his way nor the walls. He didn't hurt himself but he did bump himself a few times. He was notorius for following right on your heels and he got kicked a few times (I felt so awful when that would happen) so he learned to stay a couple of paces back and I have learned not to back up too quickly. I would say that your little one will learn his boundaries. Hope he and you survive thru this stage.
