Welcome to YT! IMO $1,500.00 is more than reasonable, that's the average price for a male puppy that is usually only Pet Quality, it sounds like you got a Steal, especially for a Champion! But can you really put a price on your Happiness & Joy? Believe me that little puppy is going to change your Life.
Besides your getting that one and if you're already in Love with him, maybe that will help in the long run, I have sooooo many Friends that want a Yorkie, but when they get them they don't know what to expect......High Maintenance in every way!
