Every once in a while I'll come up with something I remember from my childhood and share it with my mother. She is amazed that I would remember certain things. It makes her happy.
For Mother's Day last year I had kept a journal with me when things would come to mind and made her a small book and titled it "I Remember". I swear it went all the way back to four years old when she would hold my red stockings in front of the gas heater to warm them up before helping me put them on..things like that. Climbing into bed with her when I was afraid. She is old now with Parkinsons and Diabetes, remembering happy times gives her so much pleasure.
Mom said it was the best gift she had ever gotten...but now I have to beat that this year!
