Beneful isn't exactly a great food. Many folks here have said that Royal Canin makes their dog itchy. You shouldn't make human food his diet; he'll get too spoiled for it and won't want any dog food then. Also, some foods aren't really good for them. I stay away from feeding mine any beef and they really don't need salty foods. There is a sticky thread at the top of this forum on foods dangerous to dogs. Also, you can do a search here to see what others are feeding their Yorkies. I feed mine Foster & Smith's dry food and mix in some Pedigree lamb and vegetable for their evening meal. It really is trial and error but you should really only feed him a premium food...not something in a grocery store. You will most likely have to order it whatever you decide on. The brand I use comes in 2 varieties and I alternate them with each bag so mine don't get bored. If you pick a brand that has several varieties (flavors) it's usually pretty much the same formula but with a different meat in it so it's not like a big switch when you change varieties. This lessens the chance of upset when you switch flavors because it's not like going with a whole new formula. What I give mine comes in chicken & rice and a lamb & rice formula and alternating between them works well for me.
