I find that the hair is more fragile when it is wet. That is why I prefer to do it when dry or as close to dry as possible. I don't see breakage or large amounts of hair on the brush. I use a pure paws hair brush. This topic is interesting because it means that it's ok to comb the hair wet or dry, I think its more a matter of preference.
