I tried to find more info in my Yorkie book about Charlie's urine being off color but it doesn't show anything about "a heavy yellow color". It mainly refers to cloudy or bloody urine.
I wish I could have given you better information regarding this.
I am glad he will be going to the vet soon. Let us know how his visit goes.
