The topknot won't hurt anything, as long as it doesn't break his hair. It actually should be easier on his eyes not to have hair in them. If your pup doesn't dig at the topknot, he should be fine. Our boy had a nice tuft of silver hair on top at the age of 3, but now at 5 his topknot has been replaced by hair that is short, slick, and golden auburn.
