Liver damage is a side effect of Rimadyl. Had Bella had a bile acids test before anesthesia? The FDA advises dogs have a liver function test before getting Rimadyl.

Miko had a serious problem with rimadyl after one of his surgeries. He was completely lethargic, vomiting and almost dead, and I'm sure caused him more liver damage....
