Yeah it is pretty big, so if you have a very small dog they will have a lot of room, but for me, it doesn't feel too big to carry around. I guess it's different for different people. You could look at this thread

A lot of people post pictures in that thread ^^ that give you a better idea about how big it is. If you look through it there is one pic of someone holding it and it really shows you how big it's gonna be.
