I use Foster & Smith's lamb and brown rice and also their chicken and brown rice formulas. I alternate varieties with each bag. I have 12 Yorkies ranging from 2 1/2 pounds to 12 pounds and they all do well on it. The chicken variety has a 26% protein content and the lamb has 21%. It's rated 4 star by dogfoodananylisis.com. It has no by-products, wheat or corn in it and no chemical preservatives and has the Omega fatty acids in it. Some of the super premium foods have a higher protein content and that is why I stay away from them, but there are differing opinions about the ideal protein content. I feed dry only in the morning and dry mixed with canned in the evening (1 can Pedigree lamb and vegetable divided among all the dogs). Hope this helps. I know the food you choose is very much an individual choice but this works for me.
