 Yorkie Getting tired of his Food

New to this site.
Had a question.
My yorkie who is 8 months old gets tired of his dog food. I have switched it 3x and after a week or 2 he's done with it. And will occasionally just nibble on it. He's been eating my roommate's cat food and even the cat poop!! ew. I have read it's okay to give him human food once or twice a week but not too much so that he doesnt get used to it and so that his stomach is always able to digest.
So my question is how do I get him to eat regularly? Im afraid he's not getting enough in his system, and how do i stop him from eating cat poop??
