Archie - I believe the bones I have pictured below are shorter versions of your "Natural Bone" I have been feeding "shank bones" for as long as I have had Yorkies. I have my butcher but a shank about 1/2" to 3/4" thick and make a pot of good ole beef stew for the human dinner, clean the bone and it goes tot he dogs. Here are a couple of pics of some of the ones laying around the house.

When they get too nasty and slimy looking, I wash them off and give them back. Some of these bones are over 4 years old. I finally had to toss one of the them 'cause the Boxer had made a "dent" in one and I didn't trust it any more.
