So we just got back from the consultation with the dental specialist and it looks like he needs a root canal. He has surgury planned for Wednesday. They say since the nerve is dead if the tooth is left as is it will likey fracture and cause a massive infection in his mouth. Right now a root canal is our only option.
The only thing they can think that caused this is somehow the nerve in his adult tooth was damaged when they extracted his puppy k9.
I cant pull the tooth because he is still working on his CH but most importantly k9's are like little fingers for dogs--they use them to grab and pick up things.
All I can hope for is a quick and easy surgury and a speedy recovery.
