Everyone has varying opinions on this and all method work so it is a matter of preference. I will tell you what I do:

I start on the 9th day if the female is standing and I do 3 breedings, one every other day then I stop. Sometimes a female won't stand until the 11th or 12th day, they are all different.

If they tie then there is a good chance she will be pregnant but not a sure thing.

I always count 61 days from the first breeding. I have had females deliver safely anywhere from 59 to 70 days from the first breeding. Starting at day 59 from the first breeding I watch the bitch very carefully and take her temperature twice a day.
