So I am trying to start potty training my yorkie and am so completely new to this. I just want to make sure I am not doing this completely wrong!
I take him out to go potty every hour at least, while I'm home. When I'm not home he is in his crate. He's had a few accidents in his crate overnight (I guess because he's still so young he can't hold it). I try and wake up every 3-4 hours and take him out, though.
Still... he doesn't go potty every single time I take him out. When he does, I do the whole "good puppy!" and give him a treat. But if we're in my house and he has to go potty, he just goes. Most of the time it's just a little bit, which makes me think it has more to do with not consciously knowing he has to go potty. But sometimes he goes numero dos in hidden corners, behind furniture. I only yell No when I catch him in the act, but I'm not sure if he's catching on.
Tips? Tricks? What to do??
