My lady is an epileptic and what you describe could be a seizure. Seizures in a dog less than one year old are usually a symptom of hypoglycemia or a liver shunt.

Have you had a bile aids test done on him? Yorkies are thirty-six times more likely to have a liver shunt than all other breeds combined. Dr. Center recommends that all Yorkie puppies have a bile acids test before going to their new home.

Hopefully it was just a one time choking episode, but do make sure he has a BAT just to be sure.
