actually, dogs really do need to eat bones. They need a certain ratio of muscle meat, bones, and organs to be fed a balanced diet with the correct vitamins and minerals. Otherwise supplements are needed. Kibbles/canned foods normally have lots of vitamins and minerals added in because they aren't exactly nutritious
