choking or seizure? Yesterday, I got home and went outside with my 6 month old, Sammy. He has a blue rubber ball that has wholes in it. He likes to stand on it and "smush" it to get a better grip in his mouth before he runs back with it. He did this yesterday and then dropped the ball. His body was moving like he was trying to throw up. Suddenly he got in to the grass, his head went back, and his body was stiff. I freaked and screamed "Lord Jesus help", picked him up, and reached in to his mouth into his throat to get whatever I thought he was choking on out. I pulled out either phlem or bile (because he didn't have anything in his stomach to throw up) I thought he was choking on. He began breathing again and in a few minutes, took him inside to eat some wet dog food. He did and has been fine ever since. He does this sort of coughing thing sometime which gets better when he drinks water. I put up the ball. Are Yorkies prone to seizures? Could this have been what it was? I'm taking him to the vet next week.
Anyone had this happen? SCARRY!!! |
