Okay! I'm always shocked when some vets take such a radical first step in treating our pets. I mean, amitriptilyne right off the bat? If it were me, I would use DAP - which has been all over the pet community (and the vet community) as being a miracle for dogs who have, especially, separation anxiety. From my nursing days, I was not a big fan of Amitript., for many reasons - so, it just kind of surprises me to see a vet put a dog on this drug so quickly before exhausting other things, ya know?
