OMGoodness! Carol and Teri, you have made Tink some Get Well Avatars. How loving of you! I love you too.

Thank you everyone for your kind and uplifting posts and PMs and email. I really appreciate all of them.

Tink had an uneventful day which in my mind is a Great Day! Today she got some chicken broth via syringe, and liver on a stick! Barb - her very own tech - is working on a new concoction for feeding really sick furchildren that need some caloric stimulation. She took a piece of beef liver about the size of your thumbnail and sewed it into a cylindar shape with dental floss. Then she tied one end to Tink's leg and put the other end on her frog. The goal was for Tink to get it into her mouth when she sucks on her frog and maybe get some nutrition from it. then it can be retrieved before she swallows it by pulling on the dental floss. Of course at this stage, it required some careful observation because they don't want her to swallow it. She hasn't had any solid food for several days.

Tink is alert today. She knew my voice tonight when I visited her. She turned her head and whined when I got there and talked to her. Barb said that was an excellent sign. And guess what - she peed! Just a drop or two (I couldn't even see it.) but Barb was all excited. I wish I'd had my camera. She was whooping it up and doing a dance around the isolette area. It was really funny.

The vet said they are done with the transfusions and flushing. As much of the drug as will come out that way has done so. Now we wait to see what function she has. He said it was very encouraging that Tink reacted to my voice. But he doesn't want to give me false hope. He said it's still a matter of waiting. If she holds on for a few more days, she has a good chance of living. He said they can supplement her diet and give her a very strict menu to help her liver work as well as possible. He thinks her kidneys will recover well enough to keep her functioning OK. He is not so sure what level of brain function she will have. There are several large lesions and many tiny ones on her brain from the seisures. He said sometimes that means they won't have any high level function and sometimes it doesn't mean much at all. They can't tell until she is fully awake how alert she will really be. So pray with me that Tink doesn't lose her mind. Sorry, I have to find humor where I can. I took her pink nightgown tonight. She's the fashion icon of the Vet School. It's really hard to dress her tho because she's so limp.

Again, thank you all for supporting me through this hard time. I feel very loved and am thankful for all your kind words, thoughts, and prayers.
