I had a similar issue. Cooper went to get neutered at 7 months and his pre-op bloodwork showed elevated BUN/Creatnine and Phosphorous levels. They eventually did an ultrasound and confirmed he had underdeveloped kidneys (Renal Dysplasia). While in my particular case the prognosis wasn't good, the early diagnosis, medical intervention (meds, low protein foods, phosphorous binder, Sub q fluids) and hands-on approach were all instrumental in keeping him alive longer.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you....I can imagine it is a frightening and frustrating time...continue to let us know your baby's progress.....
