That's how it is for us in Chicago too! Besides, once your older you really don't get gifts from anyone One club we had to put a deposit down, so that my fiance paid in whole but he got it back once we were there and had the room and everything, everyone who attended had to pay like $20 if they wanted open bar or whatever. Instead of paying cover, you pay for the bottle.
