My first yorkie has always stayed in her crate while I was at work. Then her daddy would take her out to potty as soon as he came home in early afternoon. When we got the second baby, she stayed in a regular baby play pen up for about the first two years when we were gone. And believe it or not she never tried to get out. She only weighs 4 pounds though at present and 2 1/2 years old. She now stays in her own crate. Some on here block small areas off with a baby gate and some use the x-pens. They are quite adaptable to many situations. Welcome.
