There is a HUGE issue at the college I teach at right now dealing with freedom of speech, expression vs. what is art and I sat through a 3 hour open forum yesterday listening to students speak about what they thought. We had an "incident" a few weeks ago with a visiting artist who had designed a video game that depicted murder of a highly important person here. The University closed the exhibit, there is speculation the artist was dragged out by police and all kinds of student groups went spastic about the issue.
Yale University will soon be experiencing what we are I'm sure and honestly, I would not want to be a university administrator at this time. |
