These are really good brushes to use yes. Reason being is they are a straight pin brush. The brushes with the tips on the pins can destroy coat. I'm not sure what you are using right now, so I couldn't tell you if it is the wrong type, but the way I see it as long as you are brushing your dog(s) with something that is better than not brushing at all.
