While I don't think it looks particularly comfortable, the dogs in the pictures seem ok with it. The dog in picture 2 even appears to be having a pretty good time. I don't know that I would call it cruel. Maybe just odd? When I carry Jamie though I hold him with my 3 middle fingers on his chest and my thumb and pinkie behind his front legs and my palm supporting him. Other than him just dangling down by the hip, the purse harness seems to create much the same hold. So maybe it isn't that uncomfortable. Either way I probably won't be going out to get one. I'm pretty rough on purses (tossing it in the car, dropping it right inside the door, accidently bumping into people with it...) so I think I'll just keep Jamie up in my arms.
