If you are caring for a show coat or have a lot of dogs to groom, you should consider a forced air dryer. It blows the water off of the coat instead of using heat. It is much quicker and the coat is not damaged. It is very different from a traditional dryer and takes time to get used to it. When I am grooming for a show, I use a traditional dryer when the coat is almost dry to help straighten
There are some draw backs. They can loud and the air comes out with a lot of force. The air can be regulated on the one that I have and it is not too loud. It is made by Magnum Force. Here is the link for one sold by Petedge. PetEdge: Metro Air Force 220 Volt Dryer | I agree. I bought this and another one and didn't like either one. First, it was not any quieter than my own, cost more than mine, and the stand isn't tall enough for me to do it hands free. I'd rather invest in an arm and a forced air one like you were saying.
