Do they have an emergency department? I know at my hospital the emergency doctors that work at night also work at their own hospitals during the day. maybe you can find a good vet through them, or ask the specialist if they can recommend anyone.
My uncle used to teach history at Wisconsin-Madison. I was also going to apply there to go to vet school and use his address
