i agree that it could be coccidia. Kash had coccidia when i first got him and his poop was mucousy. he also strained and dragged his butt. does your pup do that at all after going #2? anyway, i got meds from the vet after getting a fecal test, and it cleared right up! he hasn't had diahrrea or mucousy poop since! good luck!
