I just had my lil guy neutered on Wednesday. One of his little buddies never desended either. So the vet made an incision and had to go up into the abdomen to get it out. I was a bit of a wreck when I saw the size of the incision on my 4.4 lb puppy. He was super groggy & sore the first night and next day....the vet sent pain meds home with him. He had a cone on his head that the vet said he would have to wear for 2 weeks and to keep him quiet until his incision was healed and stitches were out. Ok, we are on day 5 and he is running around like a little maniac...actually he was doing this on day 3....hard to keep him quiet, he's a puppy after all. I keep a close eye on his incision and make sure he isn't licking when I give him a break from the cone. One of the YT's gave me a great idea & said to put a baby onesie on him to keep him away from the incision and it totally works. Give that a try if you need to.
Rest assured, your little guy will be just fine. I think it is harder on us to see them go through it then for them sometimes. We will send positive thoughts and good energy your way for the big day.
