Is there swelling below and on either side of the anus? If the anal glands are impacted then they can rupture and be very painful and your dog will require antibiotics. You can wet a washcloth with warm water and apply that to the area and that will help relieve some of the pain. Please let us know how he is doing tomorrow after his vet visit. Thank you Georgie is so small I have always left that to the vet or groomer. I actually took him to the groomer today to have her check him out. She also works at the vets office. She told me it definitely looks like an absess of his anal glands (which I feel like a terrible Mommy). She also suggested the warm compress or warm water with Epson salt. He seems to be a doing better. He is able to move a lot better and I can lift his tail up to look at it. THanks for the suggestions I will give you an update tomorrow after the vet.
