I know what you mean. I've got 2 cats (the baby is 14 this July) and when he was younger, I used to let him out. He'd disappear all night down to the creek and I felt bad keeping him in, thinking that he loved being outdoors so much. But at one point, I had to start keeping him inside and it's the best thing I'm sure for him. My female has always been indoors. They aren't exposed to yucky stuff like diseases from wild animals as well as not being able to be hit by vehicles, picked up by creepy people or a multitude of other things that could happen to them. I've never had a cat live this long, and I'm convinced that keeping them indoors is key. I'd love to have a screened porch someday for them to lounge in, but for now, they have their own room with windows that they can sit in. There's nothing worse than taking your baby into the vet with a lifethreatening situation!
