The reason so many come on here with no education before breeding their dog is because they simply didn't care enough or feel the need to educate themselves before they bred. I don't get this since I'll pick up a cookbook before attempting to make something new in the kitchen. How can you not at least learn something about what you're attempting when it has to do with life and death. You don't have to show a dog to get education, you just have to care enough to make the effort. If you're going to do something do it to the highest standard that you can.
However, the average person (in my experience talking with people anyway) does not realize that breeding is truly a life or death experience. They hear about how wonderful it is, and maybe their parents whelped a litter when they were growing up, etc. and they really honestly have no idea what can happen. I'm not saying this is right, I'm just saying that many truly do not know they need to research.
