My new apartment smells GREAT - but then again - I just moved in
I use reed diffusers and have one in every room - Pier 1 has the whole set up for 12 bucks and you can add decorative reeds too.
The only other thing I can suggest is Fabreeze - I'm addicted to their original scent - LOVE it
