Secret Oh, no, The Operation...

Well, it's that time. Sargie is 16 months old and needs The Operation. It appears that his testicles have never descended, plus the trainers said it would certainly improve the housebreaking situation which hasn't gone that well as he is constantly marking (outside and in stores etc.) and just doesn't go in one place inside. I am very nervous about this because he is small (not for a Yorkie - 4.5 lb or so - but compared with all the retrievers and shepherds etc. I see at the vet's) and he had a terrible reaction to a flea medication which I always blamed on his size (although that may not have been the right assumption). Someone told me they do a blood test first to ascertain how the dog will handle anasthaesia. I would appreciate reassuring words from others who have had tiny pups go through this. Thanks!
