I have become literally sick of the adoration of the unthinking multitude. I would feel certain of my ground if I was spat upon by them. Then there would be no need for confession of Himalayan and other miscalculations, no retracing, no re-arranging.

It is not that I do not get angry. I do not give vent to anger. I cultivate the quality of patience as angerlessness, and, generally speaking, I succeed. But I only control my anger when it comes. How I find it possible to control it would be a useless question, for it is a habit that everyone must cultivate and must succeed in forming by constant practice.
The above are all Ghandi quotes. I do not think he needs your protection. He wouldn't have been angry over the 'joke' I do not think and as he says...if he didn't have a sense of humor, he should long ago have committed suicide.
I believe you have made too much of this for I do not believe that an insult was intended.
