his personality may change yes... but not less puppy-like. hell actually be happier and healthier... jsut like human boys their hormones can drive them crazy. there will be no more marking, mounting, and hell live longer. instead of wanting to mount other dogs... or in some cases be aggresive which happens to some unneutered males he'll actually want to play instead!
