I love my Bernina. I have had it for years with no problem. IMO, you get what you pay for. You can buy a machine many times over if you buy a cheapo model, or, you can buy a good one and have it forever. If sewing is new to you and you just are not sure you want to make an investment, then a cheapo machine may give you what you need.
