Mariana Mariana... now since you had a yorkie before, let me ask you.. did you get your other yorkie at this early an age? Most yorkies ddon't go home until they are 12 weeks. This is so they can learn socialization from thier mommy. Mommy teaches them how to behave and how not to bite. This occurs between the ages of 8-12 weeks. She is still a baby and just wants to feel secure. You are her mommy now, so YOU have to teach her to feel secure. And the way to teach her that is to spend a lot of time comforting her and holding her. It might help to get her some stuffed toys to stay with her when you are gone. Also leave a radio or the TV on for her. Since you work all day it will take longer for her to feel secure, so you will have to be the one to help her. Give her lots of love and lots of play time. I would move her crate back to your room. It will help to cover it at night and keep it by your bed so you can whisper comforting words to her if she cries. She needs more time with you and less isolation to feel secure. Also to help overcome biting issues, try putting some pennies in a empty soda can and if she bites shake the can. She will stop. Then immediately give her a toy to chew on and praise her. It will get better, just takes some time. Remember she is a baby and babies require a lot of attention. PS Welcome to YT! |
