Are you concerned about the new findings that indicate that it is the sex hormones that signal the closing of the growth plates? They are now leaning towards not spaying/neutering until the dog is sexually mature for leg development. - Ladyhawk
I am keeping my puppies till they are at least 5 months, right now. So not worried about spaying/neuter at this age. I have some very special breedings done and planned right now and no way letting these pups get into the wrong hands. I am also looking for show hopefuls and you know that takes awhile to see. So no hurry to let these babies go anytime soon. I enjoy watching them grow and having fun playing with them.

I have heard though that many of your top breedings/exhibitors do spay and neuter younger pups and have not heard anything wrong about those pups development. My vet has talked to me and he will not spay/neuter young pups. But 5 months is fine with him.
