I am just starting to try this, with Bailey. He is 14 months, and he was the same way,, there was NO taking him out w/ out a leash, he was SO easily distracted and would run away,,
But just lately, when Im in the yard I take him off his leash ( and half the time I dont think he even knows it) But now he will stay right with me, and follow me around, and when he starts to venture,, I say Bailey COME, and he comes right to me,,and stays. ..
I just do it a little at a time,and when there arent any distractions outside.
I will NEVER leave him out alone,, but its nice to be able to walk outside to pee and he doesnt need a leash and he'll stay right with me..
