When mine would bite me, like when they are teething, I instantly put a rawhide bone or something to chew on that they like. I usually held it till they lost interest. And if they would leave the bone and go for my hand again, I would just put the bone back in their mouths (like a pacifier)....it worked.

When you need to keep him in another room, use a gate instead of closing the door. Then he can see you.

As for table scraps, you will just have to ignore him when he is begging, or give him one of his "cookies" or food thingees.
